Accommodations

The Vail Valley is full of hotel and lodging options to suit any budget or need. We looked into reserving a block of rooms at a local hotel, but found that the discounts that the hotels offered were less than what we found on travel booking sites, so instead we'll outline some of the many options that are available for you to choose from.

The following are a list of website that offer deals on local lodging and are a great starting point for your lodging search:

VailOnSale.com- Great for finding last-minute deals and year-round specials on local area hotels, and sponsored by the local business association.
VRBO.com- Vacation Rentals by Owners website, features a number of local homes and condos for rent by owner.
BeaverCreekResortProperties.com- Beaver Creek hotels, condos and homes for rent.
Expedia.com- Features a large number of local lodging options at discounted prices.

Piney River Ranch

There are limited, rustic accommodations for those guests who would like to stay overnight at the ranch on the night of the wedding. They are shared accommodations and include multiple-bed yurts, teepees and campsites.

If you would like to reserve a bed or campsite at the ranch for the night of July 30, 2011, please contact Jessie or Steve.

Vail

Vail is the closest town to the ranch, although it is also often the most expensive. From Vail, it is about 45-60 minutes to Piney River Ranch where the ceremony and reception will be. The cheapest hotel in Vail is the Roost Lodge, however we would not recommend it. Some places we have heard good things about are the Holiday Inn, Arrabelle at Vail Square, and many other lodging options. Be aware that Vail is divided into a number of sections: Golden Peak (eastern Vail), Vail Village (town center) and Lionshead (western Vail), and you may encounter these names when looking for lodging in town.

Minturn, Eagle-Vail, Avon and Beaver Creek

These towns are all just west of Vail, 5-10 minutes further away on I-70. Avon offers a number of lodging options such as the Christy Lodge, Comfort Inn, and the new Westin Riverfront. Beaver Creek is a resort community just south of the town of Avon, and has many additional lodging options. Arrowhead is annexed to the Beaver Creek resort, and is just a few more minutes west, on Highway 6.

Edwards

Edwards is where Steve and Jessie live and is 15 minutes west of Vail on I-70. There are few lodging options in town, mainly the Inn at Riverwalk, just down the street from the couple's home. It's less expensive than many of the options up valley, but it's somewhat dated. Give yourself at least 1.25 hours to get to the ranch from Edwards.

Eagle

Eagle is about 30 minutes from Vail, and offers a number of cheaper lodging options, although it is a bit of a drive from Eagle to Piney River Ranch (estimate 1.5 hours to the ranch).
